Killer Tofu is now Mobile Friendly!

I do quite a bit of mobile browsing myself. Sitting in bed surfing the Internet is quite fulfilling believe it or not. I decided to look into making my site a little bit more friendly for the mobile crowd. Luckily it didn’t actually take all that long to do thanks to the WordPress mobile plug-in. I just dropped it in and poof! K-T automatically detects if it’s a mobile browser and adjusts accordingly. I also made a nifty icon that will appear if you try to add it to the home screen of an iPod Touch or iPhone. I have included photos below. Killer-Tofu: opinions and useless information, now mobile.

Sega Saturn Revitalized

If a product doesn’t sell well it is not always indicative of it’s quality. There is myriad factors that go into a products success. Why do I bring this up you ask? It’s to talk about the Sega Saturn of course! I don’t want to give a history less on the thing, but it was Sega’s first fully CD based system. (Yeah, yeah, Sega CD was around before, but it needed the Genesis) It snuck out in America for obscene prices. Suffice it to say, it sold horrendously. To bring it full circle, that doesn’t mean it didn’t have some noteworthy games. Especially in Japan where it actually did quite well and have a long and full life cycle. The big problem though is that unless you were on the very small bandwagon; many of the games are hard to find. Some like Panzer Dragoon Saga regularly fetch upwards of $300 on eBay. The other alternative? Acquire them through some less than reputable channels. You need two thing to play them though. A Sega Saturn, and a Mod Chip. Why not emulate them? In short, the Sega Saturn is a hodgepodge of components that is really difficult to emulate. Perhaps even the hardest to emulate. Here some pictures detailing my accent into Sega Saturn heaven.

The Mod Chip acting so coy.

This might be a little pornographic, but it’s the Saturn without its “clothes.”

Let’s test it out!

Hell yeah! It works! Finally the sweet, forbidden fruit of Panzer Dragoon Saga!

The Belmont Clan Lives!

Dracula X: Chi no Rondo!
Check that out! I have been searching for a long time to get Dracula X: Chi no Rondo (Castlevania: Rondo of Blood) on my Wii. It only saw a Japanese release when it first came out for the PC Engine (TurboGrafx-16) in ’93. It was remade recently for the PSP, but who has one of those? I heard from a podcast that it was out on Virtual Console for the Wii, but yet again, only in Japan. I spent a long time scouring torrents looking for a rip of it, but it wasn’t until about 2 weeks ago that I found a link to it on some obscure forum. Then came the task of trying to get it onto my wii. I have installed WADs before, but that was many moons (and firmware releases) ago. I can happily say after hours of internet research that I now have Rondo of Blood running on my wii. To answer some sceptics questions I know I could have gotten a rom and emulator for pc with almost no problems, but the Virtual Console emulations are near perfection and I like playing older games on a TV. Feels more natural. In closing, hooray for perseverance and a dash heaping spoonful of obsession.
